PDIS - Plant Data Information System
PDIS is a graphical user interface (GUI), windows based application software which has been integrated into PLADES process. PDIS provides engineering users with on-line capability to enter, review, approve, inquire and report on the data in the Plant Information Database (PIDB). Various engineering device and document related reports can be produced through PDIS.

SAP- Structural Analysis Program
SAP represents the current state-of-the-art technology for structural analysis. The element, formulation equation solvers and eigen solvers are all new as compared to the other SAP programs. It provides an option for static as well as dynamic analysis. Undeformed and deformed shape plotting capabilities are provided for data verification of the model geometry and for studying the structural behavior of the system.
STAAD III - Structural Analysis and Design
STAAD III is a comprehensive structural software that addresses all aspects of structural engineering - model development, analysis, design, verification and visualization. It is based on the principles of concurrent engineering. One can build ones own model, verify it graphically, perform analysis/design, review the results, sort/search the data to prepare a report all within the same graphics based environment.
FrameWorks
The Intergraph Frame Works package is used to develop structural designs on personal computers. Frame Works supports 3D structural steel modeling, drawing production, and structural commodity interfaces. Frame Works is integrated with the plant information database. This software works on Windows NT platform. Frameworks is integrated with S&Ls PIDB. The deliverables include
PSAF-STAB - Transient Stability Analysis
CYMSTAB is a program which simulates the electro-mechanical response of an electric power grid system to transient disturbances such as effect on a grid in case of power plant shut down, tripping, sudden changes in loads, sudden tripping of transmission line etc.
SAFE- Structural Analysis Finite Element
Major highlights of the SAFE system are simplicity, capacity, speed and accuracy. The program has been designed to save man hour in data preparation. The input is straight forward and easy to prepare. The output is in map form, making the material concise and readable. This particular design of the input and output puts the versatile finite element method into a simplified, practical and usable form in which the possibility of data error is very limited.
MHDS (Material Handling Design System)
This GUI based detail engineering software is capable of bringing 90% automation in design calculation and selection of belt conveyors and its auxiliary components. Through this software, 75% of detail engineering drawings including those for conveyor geometry, conveyor GA and fabrication drawings of pulley frames, are automated. The software also generates the complete Bill of Material associated with such detailed engineering.
STABILITY (Embankment Analysis & Design)
This fully GUI based comprehensive software package gives optimum design of earthen/ash embankments and can be used for comprehensive analysis & design of ash dykes, raw water reservoirs and other embankment structures. This package supports the design need of composite, monolithic and unconventional profiles resting on multi-layered soil strata. In addition, this package supports auto-generation of optimum embankment profile that portrays the most economic geometry, satisfying all the functional and safety requirements.

DYNAMIC (Dynamic Analysis of Block-Type Foundation)
This is a dedicated package for dynamic analysis of block- type machine foundation. This software contains a host of features for building up the foundation geometry, its dynamic analysis and drawing generation of the designed foundation.
SiloCost (BOQ & Cost Estimate of Silo-sytems)
This package aims at arriving at an economic concrete silo system. From the basic component size input, the program performs a detailed computation to arrive at the cost estimate for the system. A large number of configurations may be studied to quickly delineate the most economic option. Component wise break up is presented in tabular form and the arrangement of the system is depicted in A4 size drawing.
PSDS (Pipe Support Design System)
This is a dedicated application package that aims at fully automating the design of a bottom supported pipeline. The package provides for the selection & sizing calculations for all the components of a piping system and generates detailed fabrication drawings for all the supports & a dedicated BOM report for the entire support system.
HBDA (Heat Balance Diagram Automation)
HBDA has been developed to supplement the "GateCycle s/w" to fully automate the Heat Balance Diagram (HBD) generation process.The program extracts the final converged heat and mass balance calculation results after each case RUN of a model in GateCycle program and plots a diagram containing both the cycle scheme as well as the converged values. This results in error free HBDs and substantial reduction in engineering efforts.
PADS (Pile Analysis & Design System)
PADS is an exhaustive software package that provides a very conducive and user friendly environment for the complete design of pile foundation. The package comes with an online help system, customized report generation facility and an in-built capability to store, retrieve and update project and design details.
PMS (Project Management System)
This web based engineering project management software has been developed by L&T-S&L. This is a complementary product to other project management software like Primevera as well as ERP package like SAP R/3. The software is a secured Intranet site that allows exchange of project specific data, information and mail. Netmeeting and conferencing can also be hosted through this software. A special feature of this is its ability to permit many types of documents (including but not restricted to AutoCad, MicroStation etc.) to be viewed in clients PCs and mark them up without the client having the original application software. All these features result in significant saving in time and cost as well as improvement in project efficiency.
Operations & Maintenance Software for process industry
This network based Windows software is a tool developed for process plants, to capture the problems reported by operators. It helps each maintenance person by providing him all the required data about the problem and captures the details into the system after the maintenance engineer attends to the problem. The system is intelligent and self-learning and over time offers increasingly better guidance to maintenance person. Work permit generation and routing can also be done by this system. It does calculations required for daily and monthly reports and generates them.
