Information Technology & Communication

L&T-Sargent & Lundy has recognized the vital role of state-of-the-art technology to enhance the quality of deliverables with a minimum gestation period. Therefore information technology is used in all areas of work.

With an integrated network of more than 500 PCs and a dozen servers all 500 employees of L&T-S&L are connected to other L&T offices, work sites and outside world. The organisation also utilises L&T’s own network of VSATs for voice and data communications for inter L&T communication. In addition, leased lines from L&T – Netcomm and other private ISP connect the organisation to World Wide Web.

Further, L&T-S&L provides state of the art video and audio conferencing facility.
In addition to using the state-of-the-art software, we are constantly consolidating and updating our knowledge base. In an economy that is increasingly being driven by ideas, knowledge sharing has become a competitive necessity. Accordingly, we have developed a Knowledge Management System in order to make us more responsive, innovative, competitive and efficient. In addition we are also debating on using an ERP tool (SAP R/3) for monitoring and controlling our business activities. All these initiatives are being developed, keeping in mind the long term benefits for our customers.



Training & Seminars

At L&T-S&L, learning is a continuos process. The company conducts training programs in-house as well as by external agencies-at regular intervals. We believe in providing an environment conducive to the individual’s growth so that the employee gains both personally and professionally. We depute our engineers for on-job training to different locations in India as well as abroad. In order to keep everyone updated with the latest business and technical developments worldwide, our library subscribes to various national and international trade journals, publications, professional newsletters as well as all relevant engineering standard manuals and references.
