Name of Project : 750 MW Sabiya - 1 CCPP Project (500 MW SCPP+ 250 MW conversion), Kuwait

Owner : Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW)

Client : Alghanim International General Trading & Contracting Co. WLL, Kuwait

Capacity : 750 MW

L&T-S&L’s scope : Basic & Detail engineering services including On Site Support for EPC of the entire plant

Configuration : Combined cycle plant of

  • Two (2) nos.  Siemens 4000F Gas Turbines 
  • Two(2) nos. unfired HRSG
  • One (1) GE STF30 Steam turbine generator

Key Technical Features :

  • Two GTGs of capacity 261.85 MW
  • One Steam Turbine Generator of Capacity 250MW
  • Sea water cooling tower with intake & outfall arrangement
  • Closed cooling water system including emergency cooling system
  • Feed water system including LP economizer circulation system
  • Condensate system
  • Conventional Chlorination Plant (3 x 50%)
  • Compressed Air System (3 x 50%)
  • Chemical Storage, Forwarding & Dosing System
  • Waste Water Neutralization Plant
  • Plant Nitrogen Purging & Preservation System
  • Fire Protection system
  • BMS controlled HVAC Plant including smoke management
  • Design with wet compression feature
